We are looking for:
A Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage complex accounting areas, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. This role also involves posting journal entries, monitoring month-end and year-end closing processes, and leading a small finance team. It is ideal for candidates eager to combine technical accounting expertise with people management and strong deadline-driven skills.
As a Senior Accountant you will:
- Monitor and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
- Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules and liaising with auditors.
- Preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
- Support internal controls by reviewing transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Assist in the migration of master data (vendors, customers, materials, G/L accounts, asset register) from the legacy system to SAP S/4HANA.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, VAT, and other obligations.
- Post journal entries for complex accounting areas accurately and timely.
- Lead and mentor a small team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a positive team environment, encouraging collaboration and professional development.
- Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to resolve accounting-related queries (pricing, credit notes, GR/IR, etc.).
- Perform ad hoc tasks and special assignments as requested by the Manager or CFO.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting.
- Newly qualified or partially qualified ACCA/ACA
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
- Leadership potential with ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc).
- Proven experience working with SAP, specifically SAP S/4HANA and CaseWare experience is highly beneficial.
- Good knowledge of Greek & English languages
