Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to support Maintenance Engineering activities, ensuring the proper functioning, compliance, and improvement of facilities, utilities, and engineering systems in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for infrastructure and critical utility systems (including HVAC, purified water, steam, compressed air, and waste systems), while leading initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure the smooth operation and proper functioning of process equipment and critical utilities, in accordance with industry standards and compliance requirements. Troubleshoot systems issues and coordinate timely resolutions to minimize downtime and operations impact.
- Support engineering projects including equipment installation, upgrades, and facility improvements, ensuring seamless transition into routine operations. Work within project teams for improvements to facilities and utilities from start to finish.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset history, and documentation in the Maintenance Management system in accordance with data integrity and GMP expectations. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Monitor Engineering’s Helpdesk, assign tasks to Engineering staff and follow-up on the execution and implementation of each task. Assign tasks from hotline calls to Engineering staff.
- Coordinate the maintenance activities of yards, roofs, mechanical platforms and general service areas. Supervise and coordinate equipment movements.
- Ensure that essential spare parts are available on-site to minimize downtime on a potential breakdown.
- Coordinate / Provide technical support to other teams/departments during the commissioning and installation of facilities, machinery and utilities.
- Ensure the functioning and updating of department’s computerized systems (e.g., B/EMS) to effectively control and monitor utilities systems operation and facilities environmental conditions.
- Support and participate in inspections and/or internal audits to ensure compliance with GMP.
- Preparation and drafting of Engineering and Maintenance related documents (User Requirement Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, Change Request Forms). Liaise with external contractors for ongoing maintenance activities and coordinate processes.
- Maintain high workplace safety standards, follow safety rules and PPE requirements at all times.
- Ensure compliance with data integrity requirements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
- Report deviations or non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Lead or support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) initiatives.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Engineering Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, engineering support, or technical services within a GMP or regulated environment
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to coordinate across departments and work with external contractors
- Good written and verbal communication ability to document technical work and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of Greek and English (written and spoken).
- Basic IT literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Maintenance Management Systems and monitoring systems (e.g., B/EMS) is an advantage.
