We are looking for:
An Engineering & Works Manager to lead and oversee all engineering operations, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of equipment, facilities, and utilities. The role is responsible for managing maintenance, projects, and technical activities while driving continuous improvement and cost efficiency across the organization.
As an Engineering & Works Manager you will:
- Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations regarding machinery, facilities, utilities, instruments, processes, projects and operational efficiency within the Engineering function and across departments.
- Oversee Engineering activities including maintenance, calibration, qualification, and related technical operations, ensuring execution in accordance with schedules and internal procedures.
- Plan, delegate, and supervise Engineering activities to ensure proper commissioning, qualification, and reliability of equipment, facilities and utilities in accordance with Master Protocols.
- Lead and manage Engineering teams and direct reports, monitoring performance and identifying training and development needs.
- Review and approve departmental and organizational documents, including reports, policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Manage attendance and absence of direct reports in accordance with company policies. Represent the Engineering department in internal cross-functional meetings and in meetings with external stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance through regular review of established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure that Engineering personnel are appropriately trained and qualified to perform their duties in compliance with internal procedures and company policies. Conduct workforce planning for the department and participate in recruitment, selection, and assessment of Engineering personnel. Initiate and oversee disciplinary actions within the department when required, in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare and present the annual departmental review and other official reports to Senior Management.
- Provide technical support for capital expenditure (capex) projects involving machinery, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Manage and control Engineering departmental operating expenses (opex) to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to budget.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in areas such as cost efficiency, digital transformation tools, workshop capabilities, and maintenance technologies and methodologies.
- Represent the Engineering department during regulatory and customer audits; address audit observations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Ensure that all departmental activities comply with applicable regulations, company procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
What you will bring:
