Job Purpose
Direct Sourcing Specialist manages the direct sourcing and procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and pharmaceutical raw materials, ensuring reliable supply, quality compliance, competitive pricing, and alignment with production and regulatory requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
•Source and procure APIs and other pharmaceutical raw materials from approved global suppliers. 
•Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply. 
•Lead supplier negotiations related to pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements. 
•Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure supplier compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. 
•Monitor market trends, raw material availability, and pricing fluctuations within the pharmaceutical industry. 
•Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations. 
•Perform supplier due diligence (financial, operational, risk-based) in alignment with company policies and business needs.
•Coordinate with Supply Chain and Production Planning teams to ensure timely material availability. 
•Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. 
•Participate in cost optimization and risk mitigation initiatives. 
•Resolve supply issues, shortages, and delivery delays in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers. 
•Maintain accurate procurement and supplier data within ERP systems.
•Maintain up-to-date market intelligence on supplier landscapes, industry trends, and cost drivers affecting indirect categories.

 

Qualifications and Skills: 
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in direct sourcing or procurement within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with APIs and raw materials
•Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with Vendors and cross-functional teams.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
Computer Skills:
•Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications

 

Salary range:
Minimum Pay:  38,477.00 EUR gross annually  
Maximum Pay:  57,715.00 EUR gross annually
